The best part about living in a big city like Jacksonville is knowing that I can always count on a few things: there will always be great food, good people, and fun events. I challenge you to celebrate locally this holiday season by supporting our local small businesses and artists right here for Jax Black Friday and beyond.
Here is a shortlist of the deals and events that caught my eye locally here this weekend. (And if you end up at a fun event this weekend in Jax, use the hashtag #boldcitylife so we can see it too!)
Events & deals this weekend in Jacksonville:
Yoga on the Rocks at the Lemon Bar hosted by MBody Yoga. Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 10-11 AM. This event will have proceeds donated towards local patients battling breast cancer. More information is available on Instagram.

Jacksonville Light Boat Parade will be held on Saturday, November 30th on the St. Johns River at 6:30 PM at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront and follow along the Northbank Riverwalk to Fuller Warren Bridge before the parade crosses the south bank to follow along the Riverwalk to the Duval County School Board building. The evening will end with a fireworks show, featuring “waterfalls” off of the Main Street and Acosta Bridges. For more information about the Jax Light Boat Parade, check out their website.
Jax Beach Deck The Chairs is a free winter holiday public art display set on the oceanfront and features more than 40 decorated lifeguard chairs. The display is open daily and the lights are on from 5 PM – 1 AM. More information (including location info, dates, and even collectible ornaments) is available on the JBDTC website.
ZOOLights will transform Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens into a winter display filled with moving sculptures complete with forests with lighted trees and animal silhouettes. In addition to the usual visits with Santa, local artists and performers, and children’s activities, they have some new things they’re doing this year, such as an interactive play area in the North Pole where you can have a (plush) snowball fight or even build a snowman. For a full list of activities, dates, and tickets, check out the ZOOLights site.
